Whether you are a college basketball fan or not, March Madness is one of the most exciting times of the sporting year. Over the course of a few weeks every March, people tune their televisions, computers, smart phones, and all other gadgets to catch a glimpse of the games and scores. What is it about the tournament that grabs our attention to the point that corporate America sees its revenues and productivity drastically decrease during this period? Why do we care if Sienna can beat Kansas, or if the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky can take down Duke? I’ll tell you why – we love to see the upset. We love the Cinderella story that inevitably plays out each year. The NCAA Tournament brings out the best in every team and every player. This makes every game (for the most part) worth watching and highlights the best of college athletics and pure competition. You won’t find this in the NBA – not even during the finals. So clear your schedule for a few weeks this March and tune into the greatest sporting event that this country has to offer. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
